DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS/SEARCH TEAM NEWS Posted: September 14, 2009 The Lord has answered our prayers with a terrific candidate for D.O.M.! We will have a special called Excutive Board meeting at Sligo Baptist with details shown below to present Randy Jones as our candidate for the OTBA DOM position. Randy is retiring from the Kentucky Baptist Convention as their Missions Growth Team Leader on December 31st. Randy has been a DOM in three different Kentucky associations and has years of experience and leadership.
*Special called Executive Board Meeting for the purpose of selecting a Director of Mission for the Oldham-Trimble Association.
Date: Monday, September 28.
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Sligo Baptist church
Information about this meeting and about our candidate has been sent to all the churches and pastors for review prior to the meeting. Thank you for your prayers during this search process and we believe that our candidate for DOM will be the person to lead our association in an outstanding manner. _______________________________________________________________________________ Posted: July 14, 2009 Your DOM Search Team would like to provide you with an update to what we've been up to the past couple months. The process of trying to find the right candidate has been a longer and more tedious process than we might have imagined when we began. We received more than 70 total resumes, went through a process of getting down to a "short list" of candidates, went through several face-to-face interviews (both locally and as far away as Knoxville, Tn.), and came down to a Top 3 candidate list. Once we got down to ONE final candidate and was going through all the logistics of a move to Kentucky, financials, etc., our ONE final candidate decided to withdraw from the DOM offer. As you might imagine, that set our DOM Search Team back a step or two and we had to regroup, remount and reload! As God always does in His infinite wisdom, He has presented another wonderful candidate to us and we are in the process of interviewing that candidate currently. Based on the outcome of these interviews, much more prayer and a little time, we hope to have more positive NEWS to our association and churches in the next 2-3 weeks. Thank you for your continued prayers and we ask that you pray especially for discernment for each of our team as we move forward the next couple weeks. Pray that God's good and perfect will be done in this process and that God's choice for this position will win out in the end!_________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for your continued prayers as the DOM Search Team continues the process of finding our new OTBA Director of Missions. A couple updates for you: 1) Brother Rick Lucas has agreed to extend his "interim" DOM duties for another 3 months 2) We have received over 50 total resumes and are in the process of prayerfully reviewing all resumes to see which potential candidates fit the requirements. Thank God for all those who have been led to send in their resumes and pray for discernment as we go through each and every resume received. We will keep you updated as get farther along in the process and please continue to pray for entire team as we work on finding our next DOM. We have received over 30 resumes to date and will continue to receive resumes until later this month. Continue to pray for the Team as we begin the process of reviewing the existing resumes and future resumes to find the new DOM that God has in store for our Association. Posted: February 16, 2009 The DOM Search Team has received 30 surveys to date from the Pastor/Staff Appreciation Dinner and the Executive Committee meeting. THANK YOU to each one that took the time to fill out the survey. We are running an AD in the Western Recorder for the next 3-4 weeks for the DOM position and have already started receiving resumes. We have already held two meetings with Larry Baker from the KBC to determine all the steps we need to take in our search for a new DOM.
